(Photo by Marie-Claude Cardinal, South Shetland Islands, Antarctica, November 2008.)
I'm an aerospace engineer and skilled amateur photographer. Photography is my creative passion and way of life. My interests include model photoshoots, motorsports, aviation, and adventure travel. I've photographed models in the Arizona desert, sled dog races in the Yukon winter, and penguins on the shores of Antarctica. There are not enough hours in a day, or years in a life, to photograph everything that I'd like..., but I'm trying anyway! :)
I'm originally from New Brunswick and now based in Ottawa. Although I've had a couple of photography courses, I developed most of my expertise on my own, growing from childhood artistic abilities such as drawing. This has been a particularly huge advantage for my photo retouching.
I do not pursue photography as a professional career since I already have one! :) I work for the federal government as an aircraft accident investigator, where we uncover why an accident occurred so more may be prevented and lives saved. Photography for me is a fantastic diversion from this sometimes very stressful job, and I'm inspired by my job's reminders that life is all too short.
I hope you enjoy my galleries, Kyle D Jackson
